The CAMPerVAN is a transportable queer performance, and LGBTQ community event space that can be deployed anywhere in the world to bring performance art, film screening, panel discussion & workshop into the public realm.
The CAMPerVAN collective includes Zoë Marden and Fiontán Moran and Samuel Douek. It was built in March 2016 in response to the closure epidemic of queer venues across London following the 2008 recession and the rise in austerity that led to the demise of 25% of LGBTQ establishments in the capital. Together we curate and develop site specific programs in tandem with different community organisations.
Since its inception it has been a regular feature at Peckham Festival, hosted several shows at respected art institutions including Tate Modern, König London and Mimosa House, and has completed a 2 week tour of 7 European Cities in September 2017.
In 2019 we re-located to Grow in Tottenham where we put on events throughout the summer. We hosted the pride event at The Arts club in mayfair as well as curated a day of events for the Art Car boot sale. We are currently preparing for a 2020 UK regional tour.

Purple Velvet is a collaboration between Zoë Marden and Vasiliki Antonopoulou. The project began during our masters in MA Contemporary Art Practice: Moving Image at the RCA while part of the queer society. Purple Velvet was a regular event that created a safe space for artists and performers to experiment and test new ideas. It was also a discursive platform that explored the possibilities of building alternative structures to coexist sustainably within institutions. It is organised horizontally and fosters interdisciplinary exchange. Now no longer housed in an institution, it continues to evolve as a collaborative platform. The collective is mutable, it expands and contracts inviting in different modes of production.
